When I was a girl
I thought poems were easy
Slap down some adjectives, twist them to rhyme
Though sometimes I ended up
Sounding ridiculous
Or forcing an ending... some... times...
These seedlings of words
(Oo, seedling's a good one)
Were carefully guarded and hidden away
Never expecting that same
Silly child
Would make them a hobby some... day
Force.
Fire.
Fear in her eyes.
Delve
Deep
Beyond
Find
Feeling
Beneath surface lies
Light
Finally
Dawned.
I am yet a girl
And words are not easy
To hammer and sharpen and train
But now I am willing
To give them my all
In return, they are keeping me sane.

before the empty stretch;
whispered winds wandering through,
without any hope
of a realisation.

The hush of skin on skin,
such submission in her posture
to shimmy past boulders and pebbles alike
into the vast emptiness --
what a wonderful death it is. To drown.

long-distance
is longer than i thought
and she was right.
my sister told me
a 3rd wheel
is too big of a crowd
and she was right.
my friend told me
my loneliness
would return with a vengeance

was much too far to row

my second love told me
that she was torn between
what she wanted and needed
and my intuition was right.

that we had a spiritual connection
but i never experienced that light,
and my pessimism was right.
